Auto Insurance Increase?

My family lives in New Mexico and my son is planing on moving to Arizona I want to keep him on my insurance but when he changes his drivers license to the state of Arizona will my insurance go up?

    You cannot do that. His car must be insured at his new residence. If you attempt to keep him on your New Mexico insurance and he gets in an accident in Arizona, he will not be covered.

    He will no longer be a member of your household; therefore he will not be covered under your present policy. But if he is going to college there, he will still be covered. Arizona is higher. I don’t really know; ask your agent.

    Unless he’s going to college in Arizona, he’ll have to get his own policy in Arizona. He could use one of the many online rate quote request sites to find out how much it’ll cost him. Just use Google to search for “auto insurance.”
